Below are answers to common questions about our new name and what it means for you.
What’s changing?
ASR is becoming Health Alliance TPA by Henry Ford Health.
What’s not changing?
Your coverage and overall experience are not changing. Your plan, benefits, provider network, claims and prescriptions all stay the same. You can continue seeing the same doctors and using your benefits the same way you do today. The people supporting your plan and the service you expect will also remain the same.
What do I need to do?
Nothing.
There is no action required. You can continue using your plan as you do today without any disruption.
Why did we change our name?
For many years, we have helped employers provide quality, affordable health benefits. While the name ASR became familiar, it did not clearly explain who we are or what we do.
The new name reflects our connection to Health Alliance Plan and Henry Ford Health, organizations that have supported patients and members for more than 40 years. It also better represents our role as a third-party administrator, helping employers manage their health benefits in a clear and straightforward way.
Is this a new company?
No. We are the same company.
We have been serving employers and members since 1984 and currently manage health plans for more than 125,000 people nationwide. Our experience and commitment to service remain the same.
How do I benefit from the connection to Henry Ford Health?
Our connection to Henry Ford Health strengthens the support behind your coverage. It connects us to a larger health system focused on improving care and outcomes. Over time, this allows us to bring more resources and solutions to the plans we support, while keeping your experience simple and consistent.
Does this mean I can only see Henry Ford Health providers?
No.
You still have access to a broad provider network and can continue seeing your current doctors, whether they are part of Henry Ford Health or not. There are no changes to your network or where you receive care.
How will this change impact me?
In the near term, nothing about how your plan works will change.
Over time, you may see a new name and updated look on materials and communications. Your coverage, benefits and access to care remain the same.
Will I need a new ID card?
No. Continue using your current ID card.
It will work the same way it does today. You will receive an updated card in the future as part of a normal replacement cycle.
How will I know if anything changes in the future?
If there are any changes to your plan or coverage, you will be notified in advance. Our goal is to keep things clear and easy to understand so you can continue using your benefits with confidence.
